The small print page provides information relative to all of our events. We’ve kept it to a minimum, to be clear about timings, leaders, money etc and it is your responsibility to ensure you are happy with the information and simple conditions. The text in bold points at the key pieces of info that you should be aware of.
Our leaders are self employed and deliver their own walks in their own style. We don’t expect you to be wowed by all, some will appeal to you more than others, after all, we are all individuals and are made up of very different personality traits.
When you make a booking you are making a contract with the walk leader rather than with Wales Outdoors. Wales Outdoors is effectively a cooperative entity that seeks to assist walk leaders gain clients and to provide as wide a range of walks as is possible to Wales Outdoors members. Wales Outdoors knows the leaders but does not vet or oversee their walks. Your payment then is to and for the walk leader delivering your event, less the Wales Outdoors admin fee, and any issues arising should in the first instance be addressed to that leader. We are not a large business and we like to keep things simple. We believe that we are all adults here and so common sense and a desire for fairness is the best approach as opposed to reams of ant like solicitor drafted terms and conditions. This has, to date, served us well and we hope you appreciate this pleasant human approach 🙂

- It may be that part or all of an event needs to be changed due to conditions beyond our control such as weather or changes to access that we could not foresee. In these instances we go with our best alternative and continue on with the day.
- Warm layers and waterproofs essential
- You’ll need a good packed lunch (for day walks)
- We don’t cancel due to weather unless it is unsafe to drive
- We will be leaving promptly so please arrange to be at the meeting point by the stated time. If running late then do message this event page and if we have service we’ll pick up and may be able to arrange to wait for/meet you.
Some leaders have liability insurance, some not – you can go to the individual leaders profile page to see if liability insurance is in place for their events. Having liability insurance or not is not a relation upon professionalism or danger, it’s simply as is. We urge you to note the following:
All participate at their own risk and as adults or parents decide whether the chosen event is for them. The level of participation in any event is always a personal choice.

OUR CREDIT POLICY
We do not give refunds but we do give credits.
Cancelled places will be credited if we have 7 or more days notice.
There will be no credit for non attendance even with notice of up to 7 days. This is because it is unlikely, given that amount of notice, that we will be able to re-sell that place on the event.
If we need to cancel an event you will receive seven days notice and be offered a place on it’s re-scheduled date or a refund.
Please note that we only guarantee to deliver walks with bookings of 5 people or more and it is low numbers that will be the only foreseeable reason for cancellation of an event.
OUR HOLIDAY REFUND POLICY
We Cancel: In the unheard of situation where we have to cancel an event, not happened to date, you get a 100% refund of monies paid but we will not be liable for associated costs that you have incurred.
You Cancel: More than 30 days notice – 100% refund. 16-29 days notice – 50% refund. 10-15 days notice – 25% refund. Less than 10 days notice – 0% refunded – This is because it is unlikely, given that amount of notice, that we’ll be able to fill the spot/s.
We therefore recommend that you have some holiday insurance in place to cover cancellations or re-scheduling that is beyond your control.
GENERAL GROUP INFO
We charge for our walks in order to have a vibrant and exciting programme of events available to group members. The charge ensures that delivery is sustainable. We offer a range of walks of different lengths and difficulties so hope to cover most levels of ability/fitness. The key objectives of the group are to get people outdoors and walking and socialising with others who enjoy the same. We encourage the development of interest in the hills and mountains of Wales and we encourage our members to build their skills and to get out on their own or to look to us for guided adventures in the UK and abroad. Wales Outdoors is actively seeking members and new walking leaders.
