No, not really, that was just click bait. But read on as I share with you my journey… WOW! The power of a good walk!…
Keeping fresh during outdoor adventures
Keeping fresh during a long walk can be tricky, so take a look at these tips. Discover how to prep before and what to do while out to stay smelling sweet.
Go Outdoors
It’s likely that Go Outdoors will be no more… It’s gone for administration. The well liked discount (on occasion) outdoor gear store has fallen to covid. This is exceptionally worrying. And Wales Outdoors loose our partnership and the extra 10% discount for Wales Outdoors members…
What’s Open – What’s Closed
While many of NRW’s woodlands and nature reserves have been open during the coronavirus pandemic all of its car parks and many recreation facilities were shut in March.
What’s Open In The East?
News in from a group member – thanks for the info – if you have news of open countryside in your area please do send in 🙂
Deadline For Changes To Your Booking
NO change of date or credits will be available after June 5th as we need to draw a line under the admin and move forwards with a clear idea of numbers wishing to attend any event so that we may plan and implement safety protocols appropriately.
We’re Getting Back To Work
Of course I could be wrong and it could be that these restrictions rumble on due to a spike or the continued mismanagement of the crisis by the AM’s and MP’s. If that’s the case then we’ll bump July too. But, all is currently looking good for July and what a month we have planned in – do check it out 🙂
Your Guided Walks
Here at Wales Outdoors HQ we have been working hard to restructure, reschedule and to develop new events for the lovely members and occasional walkers that join us on our adventures. We hope that you are coping with lockdown and although certainly suffering from withdrawals from the hills we know that both we and you are set to get out there as soon as is allowed.
The Lady Of The Lake
Andy was off with a bad back and so David stepped in to deliver this fine walk in the far west of the Brecon Beacons National Park and taking in Llyn y Fan Fach of the Lady of the Lake legend as well as three major peaks.
Pen Y Fan
Despite the weather the views on this day were spectacular and made the more memorable by the effort required by the walkers to gain the ridges and summit. Well done all 🙂
Foraging And Falls
Kathryn was along for the session and quite sensibly made notes on her smartphone, which she then shared. The pics here are mostly hers and they are a great resource for the group. Thank you Kathryn!
