I did the Eight Waterfalls walk with Andy on the 4 th September. Very lucky to have super weather. The walk was... fabulous. The first half is quite hilly but in short bursts so is manageable. Each waterfall is a new feast for the eyes. The energy around them is amazing. Would do this again, many times and I'm sure you would see something different every time.read more
The eight waterfalls walk I chose to do with Wales Outdoors (Andy&Kate) was just perfect. It was possibly the wettest... day on 23/05/21 but I had been waiting so long to do this walk I was excited. Andy made things interesting with stops on the way, talking about the land and seeing a guy with a hut made from wicker. Andy will talk about anything. The walk was a challenge but achievable, even for those with the shortest legs. I loved it so much that I'm considering more of their winter walks in Wales and doing their trip to Iceland.read more
Completed the mountain navigation training course. Had a great day with lots of learning. Andy the group leader adjusts... well to people of different abilities and ages. He starts from basics and some training exercise to more complex navigation in areas with less navigation aids.read more
Have been out on a couple of guided walks and have booked as many more as I can fit into busy weekends. Thoroughly... enjoyed myself as someone new to walking in a group. My friends and family aren't that interested so it's great to join a friendly group with knowledgeable and experienced guides. For those who may worried about not being able to keep up, like I was, choose one of the events listed as 'doable by most' no need to be concerned. The Amazing 8 Waterfalls was spectacular after heavy rain.read more

I went on the amazing 8 waterfalls walk in June. Lovely group of people and Andy was friendly and knowledgeable.... Although I live fairly locally and had walked the first part a few times, it was really interesting to see places I hadn't been before. A few places were narrow and steep but everyone managed it, even if one or two of us went downhill on our bums (intentionally) in a couple of places. I would thoroughly recommend joining one of these walks if you want to walk with like-minded people. I hope to do one of the Pen y fan walks in the future.read more
I attended the waterfalls guided walk on a rainy day in October with my friends from my local running club. From the... minute we finished the briefing it was clear that Andy and his colleagues knew the area inside out and were enthusiastic about being out in the forests and Welsh country side. Andy was knowledgeable about the area but also about the environment in general and the importance of rewilding. The waterfalls were stunning and the route a manageable challenge. The day exceeded my expectations and will be returning with my daughters in the spring or summer.read more

I opened the first mountain bike hire business in the Brecon Beacons National Park in 1995. Since then my business, Wales Outdoors, has grown and morphed and is now the most active and most popular guided walks and adventure travel provider in Wales.
Andy has been a volunteer co-ordinator, guided walks programme organiser and part time central area warden for the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, chair of Brecon Beacons Tourism, a Duke of Edinburghs area co-ordinator, a Princes Trust social inclusion manager, the catalyst for the Brecon Beacons National Park Environment Charter and a key motivator for the inception of the outdoor activity peer group, SWOAPG.
