Why not dip your toe into a wild camping weekend or a short walking or wellbeing residential?
Wales Outdoors provides an occasional but varied programme of weekends away in South Wales and the Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia and sometimes further afield. We offer a few fixed events such as the national Three Peaks Challenge and our Gower Wild Camping Weekend and each year we try something new. All weekends away are detailed in our calendar of events.
Each year Andy delivers a small group Three Peaks Challenge event. These events are always well received and are half the cost of the competitors out there! Andy takes four people in his car and we walk each mountain, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, on seperate days, so a trip of four days in total when including a days driving to Scotland. These trips are fully inclusive of transport, guiding and accommodation.
It’s become a thing! Every May Bank Holiday Andy leads a coastal walking and wild camping expedition from North to South Gower. This is a carry everything you need trip and is two nights camping and three days walking. The walking is between eight and ten miles a day so is ideal for those wanting a relaxed backpacking trip or for those new to backpacking.
The Snowdonia Expedition is a tried and tested on many occasions route that is great fun, includes a night in a bothy and a night under canvas and is a little bit of a step up from the Gower trip as now we are in the hills and climbing some big peaks with our backpack on our backs… The trip takes in the Carneddau and the Ogwen Valley and is a spectacular and memorable walking holiday in North Wales.
Look out for our free to attend camping evenings, usually once a month throughout the Spring/Summer and designed as socials for the group 🙂
More? A pilates and walking weekend? A singles weekend? The Welsh three peaks? All of these things have appeared on the UK weekend away programme with Wales Outdoors over the past few years. We’ll likely be offering them again and will be thinking up some more wonderful weekends away in Wales for the future…
