Vernal Equinox Sunset On Pen Y Fan
This is a guided walk to the summit of Pen y Fan (the highest mountain in Southern Britain) in time for the sunset. Join us as we celebrate the beginning of Spring! The March equinox marks when the Northern Hemisphere starts to tilt toward the sun, which means longer, sunnier days. In the Northern Hemisphere, the March equinox is called the vernal equinox, because it signals the beginning of spring (vernal means fresh or new like the spring).
The walk to the summit will follow the main path which offers no real difficulties but walking boots are advised. It can be cold on the top even in good weather so warm layers and waterproofs are essential.
