South Gower Exploration
A walk of just over 8 miles also suitable for older children. This walk starts and finishes at the Coed y Parc car park.
Shortly after the start we visit a Neolithic burial chamber and a cave that was inhabited for thousands of years. Thereafter we take the Gower Way for a woodland walk and climb a small hill with big views before heading down to the coast where we have lunch on the beach (weather permitting). We then walk a section of the Wales Coastal Path with extensive views and cross the steppingstones over the Pennard Pill rivet. From there we head for the ruins of Pennard castle.
Before getting back to the car park there is the opportunity to have a proper dairy ice cream.
Coming from Swansea turn right off the A4118, signed to Coed y Parc, just after The Gower Heritage Centre. The car park is on the left after 1/2 a mile, opposite the entrance to the park.
