A Roman Road, Secret Valley And Fine Hill

This walk takes Andy back to when he lived at Forest Lodge and opened the first mountain bike hire centre in the Brecon Beacons. We’ll meet at Forest Lodge and then follow Sarn Helen, a Roman Road, to the Hanging Valley, perhaps the most beautiful spot in the National Park.

We then follow a little walked route to the summit of Fan Frynich with spectacular views of Pen y Fan and the Central Brecon Beacons before descending, likely following some old workings and almost never used tracks, back to Forest Lodge. This is a walk with one hill and covers 7 miles. Some have found it strenuous but we think it is moderate… You can decide on the day…

    1. Hi Neil – Here are the details Neil – https://www.walesoutdoors.co.uk/store/Membership-c47122337 – the fiver a month has gone up to £15 but now with no need to pay the walk leader anything on the day. All walks have doubled so now £25 a month so the standing order is by far the better option. we are reducing group sizes and maintaining staff levels, hence the increase. Any questions do fire away 🙂 You can either set up a sytanding order or take out the $20 option at the Wales Outdoors Subscribestar page
