MOUNTAIN BIKE BIKING CYCLE DAY IN WALES Wales Outdoors opened the first mounmtain bike hire centre in the Brecon Beacons National Park and developed the first mountain bikiing route cards which are still in use today. Who better then to guide you on the classic and lesser known off road cycle routes in the Brecon Beacons and further afield, Cardiff being a superb venue for day and half day mountain bike rides. MOUNTAIN BIKE BIKING CYCLE DAY DETAILS MOUNTAIN BIKE BIKING CYCLE DAY DESCRIPTION BRECON BEACONS CARDIFF SWANSEA We do not have a couple of set routes - we discuss your expectations of the day and get a feel for your ability and then tailor make a session for you. From easy to very strenuous the days always have the following content - bike maintenance, riding skills such as balance, emergency stopping, assisting tired riders, steep ground - and of course cycling through some amazing scenery. In the Brecon Beacons routes can include easy rides across commons, routes that only we have access too taking us to remote mountain areas and of course classics such as the Central Beacons gap route. In Cardiff we usually offer a day or half day ride along the river Taff to Castell Coch and an exploration of the forest tracks and purpose built ramps. In Swansea we can guide at the purpose built downhill centre, Afan Forest Park. We bring to the day all necessary safety equipment and provide you with a mountain bike (reduction if you bring your own) and helmet. We recommend that you bring gloves and a waterproof jacket. WHO CAN TAKE PART? We can accommodate most levels of ability and have worked with all ages although any child under 7 years old should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. CAN I COMBINE THIS WITH ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES? This is a full advenure mountain bike biking day so no need to combine with another activity. Saying this though, why not combine this with a second day out on the hill or perhaps Gorge Walking CAN I USE A CAMERA / CAMCORDER Yes. There are good opportunites to film the sessions but we are not to be held responsible for any damaged cameras.
