Coasteering and Beach Play - It's An Intertidal Thing More students stay on in Swansea after leaving university than for any other Uni town. South Wales Heritage Coast has our favourite beach, and this is 30 minutes from both Cardiff and Swansea. The Gower was the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK. The South Wales Coastline is a jewel rare and wonderful!   Multi Activity Day Kites, Mountain Boards, Body Boards, Abseiling, cave exploration and Coasteering. We think that that says it all! 30 minutes from both Swansea and Cardiff. We bring along kit for five activities and guarantee to be able to offer three. We choose the activities on the day based on the swell, wind and surf. The mix of activities is about right, too wild for coasteering the body boarding works well, no wind the coasteering should be good... We can always do the caveing and abseiling. April - October £57.50   Coasteering A great 1/2 day session at Ogmore, midway between Swansea and Cardiff, sea level traversing, inlet swims, scrambling, personal challenges and some fine jumps. Definition - Coasteering - Usually a wet activity involving swimming and jumping from height into water as an integral part. This is a great although exposed venue. Situated on the Bristol channel with views to Devon, this area has the second highest tide range in the world (12 metres). Start and finish times will relate to the tides for the day. Detailed Info Page We meet at Ogmore Flats car park. May - September £45.00   Sea Cliffs At Swansea and Ogmore, a day of climbing and abseiling with cave exploration and scrambling around. Kind of a mountain day but by the sea. Don't forget your towell! At Mumbles, near Swansea, we have an excellent site for abseiling towards the ocean or rock climbing from the beach plus the smallest cave that you could ever get through! At Ogmore we have a large array of sea caves and some of the best bouldering in South Wales. An abseil and some climbing completes this session. Learn to handle the power kites, ride on mountain boards and body board till you drop. With literally miles of empty sandy beach to mess around South Wales is the kite flyers heaven. Often good wind speed and with compact sand, getting to grips with mountain boards under sail power could not be easier... South Wales is acknowledged as a premier UK surf destination. Well, surfing takes a bit of practice but body boarding is accessible to all. This is a day long exploration of the intertidal zone only accessible at low tide. We return to the start via the cliff top path. The coastline between Ogmore and Southerndown is spectacular and rightly designated Heritage Coast. Limestone cliffs imaginatively carved by the ocean, golden sands and sea life in abundance. We make our way an hour or two before low tide to the sea cliffs and then rock hop our way to Southerdown, seeing bays and caves that few ever get to see. A real adventure walk. Night swims not compulsory. Guitar playing clients greatly appreciated! So, all of those beach parties in films that seem so magical... that is what we aim for. We bring along torches, blankets, poi, juggling bits and pieces, food and some tarps. Release the hippy in you! All you will need is a sense of humour and a sleeping bag.
